3. Gear and tools: This does not mean go out and spend hundreds of dollars on new clothing and apparel. It simply means supplying yourself with the necessary foods and supplements to accelerate your weight loss journey. This doesn't have to be an expensive change either. Buying fruit and vegetables from local markets is actually a lot cheaper than buying at the major shopping centres. Try cutting back on foods that will sabotage your success such as chips, soda, and other unhealthy snacks. 4. Schedule: Setting a schedule and an overall time goal is very important. Having a good schedule that is easy to stick to is crucial to your success. Create a realistic goal that you believe you can achieve but not one that is too easy. A goal that is just out of your reach is ideal as it will keep you pushing harder and harder. A good idea is to set one long term goal and several short term goals such as "Each month I will..."

5. Fun: Losing weight and getting healthy has to be fun. It should not require stress and agony each day and a hard routine that even Superman couldn't stick to. Try playing games outside with your family and friends, you could join a social group that takes part in physical activities such as walking or sport.

Now, walking isn't just walking. Overall, normal walking is fine for long term weight loss. But I'm sure you want to lose weight quickly. For that, you need to walk uphill.

I'm sure you've walked up a hill before. Isn't it a lot different than just walking on a flat surface?

It is.

So just make that adjustment. Obviously, if you don't have a hill you'll need to find a treadmill. Hopefully that isn't a problem for you. I prefer a treadmill just because I don't have to worry about cold or rainy weather.

Anyway, that's essentially it. Walking uphill. A 15 degree incline works best. It's steep enough to make a difference, but not so steep that it's unbelievably hard.

How long to walk? I suggest 20 minutes at least 5 days a week.

Now, if you were to tell me you're really busy and can't spare 100 minutes of your time then my question to you is... there's 168 hours in a week... you can't spare just 1.5 of those hours to devote to your health? That's not even 1% of your time.

You really need to change your priorities if you think that little of your own health. Remember, to enjoy all those other things in your life you need decent health. So without health, you have nothing.

Bonus Exercise - Vacuum Pose

If you have problems with belly fat, this is the best exercise you can do. Essentially, all you do is suck in your lower belly and hold for 5, 10, 20 seconds at a time. That's it.

How good does it work? You'll lose 1.5-2 inches from your belly in a month. That's just doing it for 5 minutes a day.

So back to incline walking. If you want to lose 10 pounds quickly, that's what you need to do. It's the best exercise to lose weight with.

Do this for 10 - 15 minutes a day and you will see results beyond what you have experienced from months of jogging.

When carbs replaced fats as the main contributor of weight gain, many people are avoiding all known types of carbs completely. I personally have a colleague who shuns carbs like the plague. Depriving your body of carbs can have detrimental effects on your body. Every type food has its time and place to be consumed. As a general rule, you should only consume low glycemic carbs such as brown rice, dark leafy vegetables, multi-grain bread, oatmeal, etc. High glycemic foods such as bananas, juices, white rice, potatoes and other processed foods are best consumed only right after an intense exercise.

A lot of people give up on a training or fat loss program after a week or so because they did not see the results they were expecting. First of all, you have to remember that you didn't get fat overnight. So you should not expect a miracle weight loss to happen as well. If you have never trained your legs before, trust me, start your workouts with squats and you will be amazed by the results you see. And yes, you can thank me later.

Many people don't realize how many calories they consume every day. You think you are eating less by skipping a meal here and there. But you never consider those sodas, grande Frappuccinos or those cookies distributed by your colleagues that you so casually put in your mouth during the day. - Do not be too desperate to lose weight quickly, as this will only lead to more weight gain in the future. If you lose weight too quickly you will gain it back just as quick. Just up your exercise and eat smaller meals, sounds simple right? Well yea its a little more complicated than that, but you get the drift.

1. Work around the edges of your diet

What does that mean... it means start with snacks and snacking. From thousands of clients that I've advised, I find this is the best way to start a weight loss diet for women.

So I want you to eat these as snacks.... apples, bananas, grapes, low calorie yogurts (under 80 calories), black olives, dill pickles with a slice of cheese, string cheese, and beef jerky

That's a wide variety of foods to satisfy different taste urges.

Apples are my top choice. If you just did one thing... eat 3 apples a day as snacks, you'd lose 2 pounds a month for 2-4 months straight.

What these snacks do is start "bridging you" from meal to meal. A healthy bridge... and that bridge will get longer and longer until from morning to night, it's just 1 long healthy bridge you're one.

2. Have small doses of protein throughout the day to speed up your metabolism

You can use protein shakes, chicken breasts, lean meats, black beans, eggs (I'm big on eggs), lentils, tuna... whatever. It's better to have 4-5 small meals than 2-3 big meals. This keeps your digestive system from being overburdened, keeps your blood sugar levels more normalized, and you maintain high energy levels.

3. Eat eggs everyday

I just touched on eggs, but I highly suggest you start the day out with some scrambled eggs. Why... because if you skip breakfast or eat a bad breakfast, you play "calorie catch-up" the rest of the day. When you do that, you will gravitate towards junk and convenience foods that have lots of useless sugar and calories in them.

4. Don't drink empty calories or diet sodas

Empty calories are those sodas and juices that pack in tons of sugar and calories. The average American now takes in OVER 25% of his/her calories from what they drink. Very bad news! With the exception of protein shakes, avoid calories in your drinks. Stick with water and teas.

So work with this "lose weight fast diet" outline to come up with something you can use and be happy with in your efforts to lose weight.

Don't ignore any group.

When eating remember to eat "naturally from the earth", the less processed the food is the better.

What this means is eat healthy carbohydrates such as brown rice or potatoes, rather than pizza.

With fat it's the same unstaturated rather than saturated fats. When consuming proteins make sure its lean protein.

6. Eat fibre and lots of it

Eating lots of foods rich in fibre helps keep food moving through your bowels.

Aerobic exercise burns fat calories while you are engaged in the exercise itself. On the other hand, strength training primarily contributes to weight loss by helping to increase the speed of your resting metabolic rate (RMR), which is the number of calories your body burns while you are at rest. Your RMR actually increases (i.e., burns more calories) the more muscular your body is because it takes much more energy to maintain muscles than it does to maintain fat.

Important note: remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so some strength training exercises will make you healthier and more attractive while not necessarily contributing to weight loss. But, muscles are a "good" kind of weight and you should aim to build more muscle in order to help keep body fat at bay.

Here are 5 tips for exercises - both aerobic and strength training - you can do at home to lose weight quickly.

Tip #1: Squats: Your buttocks and leg muscles are the largest muscles in your body. Every day in front of the mirror, put your feet at shoulder width while facing forward and squat down-and-up 10-20 times for 2 or 3 sets. This will build your leg and buttock muscles. As you build up strength, try holding 2 or 5 pound dumbbells in your hands while you work out. Be sure to warm up first, and stop if you notice any sharp pain in your knees.

Tip #2: Pushups: Pushups are a form of strength training: during a pushup your arms have to support up to 70% of your body weight. Do 2 or 3 sets of 20 pushups to build arm strength and increase your RMR.

Tip #3: Jumping jacks: Jumping jacks are an excellent whole-body aerobic workout you can do right at home. Do 4 or 5 sets of 20 jumping jacks, or as needed. Hint: if you live in an apartment or stay in a second-story bedroom, be considerate of your neighbors by going outside or doing these in a first story room.

Tip #4: Fast walking: While walking is in itself a great aerobic exercise, fast walking is even better for burning fat. Make sure you really stretch first and warm up with regular walking. Once you start your faster walking pace, try to maintain as much speed as possible for as long as you can. If you get tired, try doing intervals of fast walking followed by short periods of slower walking.

Tip #5: Stepping: Stepping is a great way to get your heart beating and to burn calories. You can use your stairs at home, but for best results I suggest buying specialized stackable step mats and stack them up to at least 15 inches (38 cm). Do 2 to 3 sets of 20 steps each to begin. Even though you may not feel like the stepping is helping, it is! This exercise will not only help you lose weight but will also help shape up your buttocks and legs.

An important element in a strategy to lose weight quickly at home is to do a combination of exercises that build muscles (strength training) while burning fat (aerobic exercises). Start a regimen of most or all of these exercises 2-3 days/week and watch the unhealthy fat melt away.
